    Aha! My theory has been confirmed. Kiko and Mari didn't mysteriously age up at all, but were abandoned by their parents and swapped out for a pair of teenagers whom Zed had used his old connections to have brainwashed into believing their were his daughters.

    The real twins been on their own in North Carolina, languishing in an impoverished foster home until just now being flooded out.

    Yep. Knew it all along.

      I'd love for this to be a viable theory, but the girls would be in their late teens by now, ironically about the age that they were aged up to a few years back.

      So clearly, this is some as yet unknown female relative of Sam's. Hey, it worked for Skye, who remember was introduced as a random Straw Leftist named Sky no 'e'.
