He's been saying nonsense stuff like this for years, idiotic displays of not only his own ignorance but of his own immensely swollen ego.

      I don't think he is. This is probably just him going on about his UN conspiracy theory. Muir tends to treat natural disasters as not happening unless he thinks they'll embarrass Democrats. And even then he'll treat them at a distance. Probably because they underline how his myth of self-reliance is, well, a myth.
