The fascinating thing about Muir's declarations of cheating is they aren't a new development. He's been screaming that the Democrats can't have really won since 2008, an election where a Democratic victory was highly likely. This is a rare area where Muir, instead of being a weird outlier, was a canary in the coalmine, expressing the Republican belief that they are the natural party of government, despite only winning the Presidential popular vote once since 1992. True, Muir has largely turned on the party, viewing it as a lot of disloyal scum whose only saving grace is being the instrument through which his fascist dreams can be manifested, but that belief that he and his are simply owed power, the fundamental source of his fascism, that's been there for the entire run of the strip.
