'Communism Will Fail Thanks To Historical Inevitability', He Said Without A Trace Of Irony.

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because loop-di-loop.

You know, it's obvious we're being set up for a massive wall-of-text rant in Sunday's strip with this one. I'm just wondering what's going to happen now that Biden's won--are we going to get it as a sort of threnody, or is Muir going to give us a primal scream instead?

There's An Election Going On In The Muirverse, Days After The Polls Closed.

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because bramble.

Watching Muir suddenly notice the election after its over is certainly a thing.

Mind you, he'd be screaming fraud if it was a blowout for Biden, so really not much of a surprise here.

Not How It Works, Muir. Not How It Works.

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because it was a dinosaur.

Muir's arrogance is, as always, matched by his ignorance. But go on, Muir. Explain to us how elections working by the rules they've worked by for decades is somehow cheating.

Clearly, What Needs To Be Said On Election Day.

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because he wears a white cockade.

This election day, Muir has retreated fully from the real world to dwell in one where his guy is great, and awesome, and the other guy is awful, and a pedophile, and EVERYTHING IS FINE.

Who knows what the hell tomorrow will bring, eh? Save that it will be unpleasant.

The Brittle-Boned Fascist.

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because the Secret History.

It's funny to note, as things wind down, that this year Muir has largely ignored the presidential race, preferring to dwell in an alternate world where everything is fine, Trump is doing well, and this whole democracy thing is just some sore losers about to get schooled by the Leader. But then, Muir's always been a rather frail little authoritarian under his bluster, as this strip illustrates. When things turn against him, he curls into a ball, whines about how mean people are being to him, and then shouts how things are going to be fine, just fine, and boy won't they be sorry when he really cuts loose.

It makes the roots of his Trump support fairly obvious.

The Important Thing Is They Are All Inferior.

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because Gaumont.

At times like this, the way Jan and Damon have become almost extraneous to this strip shines through. They no longer really discuss politics, because each of them have the same opinions now, they don't really have storylines, because nothing can really threaten them, and fundamentally, the strip isn't interested in them the way it is Zed and Sam. But they are long-standing cast, so they keep popping up, to be assholes.
