Hateful Paranoid Bigots Know Everyone Else Is Inferior And Awful.

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because Snow Babies.

This really isn't a comic strip. It's a lengthy rant with crappy artwork. Hell, it says something that any of the main cast could be saying this to any of the designated worshipful youth. It is that devoid of any personality beyond Muir's.

Remember, Everybody Who Opposes Blood And Soil Politics Is A Race Traitor!

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because where the banshees dwell.

There's always something bitterly amusing in the way Muir imagines the rest of the world united in a cheery evil conspiracy of evil against the American Volk.

They Also Give Them Precious Stones!

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because don't try to run, I can keep up with you.

There's a bleak fascination in how in the middle of a crazy racist conspiracy theory, Muir continues to conflate unregistered migrant workers with refugees. He peddles different strands of misinformation at the same time.

So Proud To Be So Awful.

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because the Aggies.

When Muir has his cast give these bigoted brittle speeches, which highlight not only his racism and his amorality, but the cowardice that imagines its courage that underpins it all, I'm reminded of the saying that libertarians are rather like house cats--creatures that fancy themselves independent but are actually utterly dependent on systems they don't understand to survive.

If They Can't Vote For People Who Attempt Coups, Then... They'll Attempt ANOTHER COUP!

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because charcoal.

The admiration on the Right for that 'jury box, ballot box, bullet box' slogan that wasn't clever when it was first made is... well, typical.

For that matter, so is Muir's tortured 'go green' line.

If The Right Can't Attempt To Hold A Coup When They Lose Without Suffering Consequences, This Is No Longer A Democracy!

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because Duke of Bedford.

So, why do they care again, when they feel they just seceded? Because it seems like they imagine secession involves them being able to say they're an independent nation whenever anything is asked of them, but also getting to keep all their present involvement in the US government in a 'heads I win, tails you lose' set up.

Which, to be fair, is how Muir imagines all of society should be run.

"Wimmen!", Christmas Edition.

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because that was a good drum break.

This entire strip is the sort of hypocritical, bigoted, misogynistic rant you find on the dingier fashier sections of 4chan and 8kun.

Only in comic form.

Remember, Xir Is Inferior And Wrong, And Sam Is Hot.

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because Coastal Carolina Chanticleers.

Well, it's finally happened. Despite being the most repugnant straw leftist Muir has created, Xir has finally made an argument that is correct, albeit in the most awful way possible. I suppose if it happened to Skye, who was made of stupid when she was supposed to be a leftist, it would happen to Xir as well. Xir realizes the entire election is absurd, notes that Sam is wrong about everything, and says that the people of Gunpowder are bunch of idiot rednecks, which--again, this is what Muir has written. But of course, Muir thinks that he's written a cast of smart, capable patriots.

That he has plotting a unilateral secession. Again. Because the first one didn't take somehow. Also, why did Xir even stay in the running when the race somehow turned from judge to 'President of our secessionist county'?

Ehh, I'm giving this plot more thought than Muir has.

Friday, December 22, 2023

Ha Ha. Xir Is Fat.

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because the Nukeface Papers.

Why is Xir even bother running for a nonsensical made-up post in the Redneckistan "government"?

Continuity Is For Small-Brains Who Worry About Things Like Consequences!

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because Nine Dragon Shi.

It's startling what a mess this strip is. The election for judge is apparently being discarded, and yet Xir seemingly continues to stand for office, and even makes a common sense argument that the hivemind of course sneers at. I'd argue the fundamentals of the strip haven't changed much, actually--Muir has always argued nonsense, and insisted sensible things stated in reply to this were some kind of idiocy. It's just that the nonsense has gotten crazier and crazier as the strip goes along.

He Already Did This.

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because Eye of Night.

So we are starting the secession plotline again, EXCEPT the previous secession apparently didn't happen, though all the stuff connected to it Sam was doing did happen.

At this point, the only in-universe explanation that makes sense is that the twins getting aged up created a time vortex so that causality breaks down in weird ways.

Out of universe, the explanation is that Muir is a crank and a hack, obviously.

They Plot With The Impure Blood, The Wreckers.

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because Scooter's Coffee.

The tendency of Muir's various baddies to create nonsensical Evil Legions of Evil can really get to you sometimes.

Only A Fascist And A Communist Would Oppose White Nationalists!

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because bellringer.

Not only do we have Muir making his imagined enemies talk like this, we have him thinking that this makes him sympathetic.

Sunday, December 17, 2023

Remember, All His Enemies Fear Captain Mitty.

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because He Walked By Night.

Most of the 'How dare the government persecute us for things we did!" rhetoric is the same old, same old, but I can't help but shake my head at how casually our latest baddie dismisses the robodogs. As if that just, you know, par for the course.

Muir can't help how much he's broken the strip's reality at this point. It's beyond salvage.

"Of Course, We Both Know They're As Harmless As The Next Heavily Armed Private Militia!"

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because take to the sky with me!

There are two things that make Muir's objections to the security state risible. Firstly, as his protagonists' actions make boundlessly clear, he has no real objection to this sort of behavior, just the idea that it might be aimed at him. The hivemind runs Gunpowder and the Compound as de facto police states, spying and detaining those who oppose them whenever they wish.

The other of course is that the Compound has performed so many baffling illegal actions that there's no reason for the FBI to be acting like dimwitted heavies about this. They've killed people, threatened people, spearheaded a secession attempt, and have made nearly no effort to hide this. Talking about how they're going to have plant evidence on people who loudly shout their plans to break laws is... well, par for the course.

How Dare They Target A Murderous Racist Secessionist Militia!

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because olive oil.

Muir keeps acting as if it's outrageous his characters would face opposition from the federal government and that only a depraved state would dare act against them. And keeps having them do awful and illegal things that no government would countenance. Which he occasionally retcons in part of his eternal tendency to gaslight.

Aggressive In Their Awfulness.

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because it's a strange invitation.

Ahh. Finding a chance to slam the poor and Blacks while demonstrating that you don't know how the welfare state you rail against works.

Peak Muir right there.

A Slice Of Asshole Life.

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because Carolina Chocolate Drops.

Sometimes I think Muir is aiming to face the vengeful revenant of Johnny Cash. And sometimes I know.

Remember, Only A Deviant In The Service To The Corrupt Wants To Help A Nation Being Invaded.

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because that's how it goes.

The man who always accused his opponents of being cowards for not supporting an unjust war, now accuses them of being corrupt deviants for supporting a just war.

Because when you're fascist, that's what you do.
