As I'm fond of noting, Muir is essentially a 50 year old adolescent, and like most 50 year old adolescents, he's managed to keep all the worst aspects of that stage--he's outrageously sexist, unbearably self-righteous, and utterly self-centered. He supports blindly those aspects of government he thinks of as cool--namely the military--while considering the rest evil and wimpy. And of course, he thinks acting like this shows how mature and tough he is, and how much like spoiled babies his opponents are.
