"Totally Like Hitler!"

It's the Day's Day of Days!  Because bells and whistles.

The NRA has a lot of shit to answer for.  Spreading the myth that Hitler was into gun control is a tiny, but significant part of that.

    I'm convinced that Muir and company have lost completely the ability to view domestic or world politics through any other prism than Nazis Are Out To Get Us. "Us" meaning them---and ONLY them. Their myopia beyond measurement.

    JTC, Eon, and NotYetInACamp in particular scare the crap out of me. I do not know how it happened, or how many years it's taken, for them to arrive where they are. But lord, they are THERE.
    And so here we are.
    For how can you have any hope of trying to communicate with somebody who thinks you're trying to kill them?

    (I read Shirer's book, too. I imagine he he would have been bewildered that anyone could come away from it with the conclusion jdow did.)

    Had I not become familiar with the crowd of regulars at DBD, I might still be making the mistake of underestimating the capacities of the redhats. These people are far more frightening than the illiterate yahoos that we far too often stereotype Trump's supporters to be.
