The incoherence is getting astonishing these days. About the only thing that comes through is Muir's desire for his side to be able to threaten and hurt people he doesn't like.

I have no idea what sort of gross implication Sam's "rot from the head down" is supposed to carry that would prompt a grossed-out reaction from the kids.
ReplyDeleteOn that note, Samuel may be the ugliest and most incompetent character design Muir has ever come up with, at least out of the semi-regulars. Jack was pretty terrible, but this kid (who, let's not forget, has already been put through a rapid soap opera-ageing warp even more drastic than his older sisters), looks like someone's elderly grandmother who dyes her hair red.
I think the only Muir creations more hideous than Samuel and Jack are Hugo and Nikolai, and he uses the same mutant-looking face template for both of them, anyway.
