As we deal with yet another appearance of Muir's version of Nancy Pelosi, the feckless weakling, let's sit back and marvel at him not understanding how the government works, and imagine that Trump's undermining Congressional security is somehow a good move.

(1. The naked, blistering contempt for federal employees is really incredible. Whether it's Ann Coulter's VICE interview, nameless ghouls on FreeRepublic ("those leeches will finally have to get a real job") or Muir viewing them as useless grifters, the American right's unique hatred of government comes through in this moment like never before.
ReplyDelete(2. If Muir isn't sexualizing women he hates, he's infantilizing them. This might be the grossest, ickiest instance I've ever seen of it, since he manages to cram it into the "strong daddy" motif, which humanity outside of the social right views as supremely creepy.
(3. I have been trying and trying to understand what on earth I'm seeing in panel two. What in the WORLD am I seeing?
