A Reminder That They Just Have Terminators On This Ranch. They Just... Do.

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because White Eagle.

As we stare at that supremely awkward strip, I do worry that if this trip does happen, and Muir allows it to happen onscreen, we will get his racist-ass upside down version of Mexico.

  1. Yeah, I worried about the same thing. But Muir does have a tendency to have the action happen offscreen when he's not feeling confident about his storytelling abilities. And while he's supremely confident about his caricatured portrayal of Mexican immigrants in the States...I don't know that he will have that kind of confidence about Mexico itself. Of course, knowing him, the entire story might take place in a generic hotel room or bar. Even better, because then he can reuse his graphics of Skye/Jan sitting by the pool, and just stick Mari's head on them.

    1. Oh, yes. Nine times out of ten, when Muir sends a character like this on a trip, we just don't see them for awhile. But every now and then we get some weird, distorted Right Wingnutsphere version of the outside world.

It's kind of funny from a guy who likes to see himself as an heir to Milt Caniff.

    2. Tell me he didn’t actually SAY anything like that. I could see someone in the Peanut Gallery saying it, but…

    3. Depends on your definition of 'saying it'. He drew multiple strips with Sam in costume as Miss Lace from "Male Call", which to my mind is definitely counts as 'saying it without saying it'.
