Who Is Even Talking In The First Panel?

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because The Secret Code.

Ahh, yes, the Muir Standard--a declaration of Left Wing principles can ONLY be the pretext for corrupt betrayal based on... whatever the hell idiocy's he's reading at the moment, distorted further by his warped mind. It's made him the self-declared champion of the common man who champions the common man taking it in the neck, and a so-called enemy of corruption who has to come up with elaborate conspiracy theories to explain how his heroes only look like they're corrupt.

And he never learns, and he never changes.

  1. WHAT “billionaire buds”? What the hell is he talking about?

What kind of bonkers stuff is he reading to say something like that about a politician who always CRITICIZES billionaires?

No, seriously. For real. Tangibly, materially, literally — WHO is he talking about?

    1. Those (((billionaires))). Look, Muir's been doing this for years. He was spouting similar conspiracy theories about Obamacare a decade and a half ago. It's how he thinks, nobody in government can actually want to help people, so anybody who says they do is just a scheming crook.

  2. And my god, the comments. They’re even more unhinged and disconnected from reality than they usually are.

These people aren’t like your average trolls or right-wing grifters. They really BELIEVE these things are happening. They really BELIEVE New York is falling apart. They really BELIEVE the citizens will be starving and all the rest of it.

And jesus christ, the absolute inhumanity of these people. They really hate us so, so much. The way they call us “vermin” and worse. The way they relish imagining us suffering and dying. The way they’d love to wall us off, or outright murder us.

This is just not sustainable. You cannot maintain a functional democratic republic when people are THIS misinformed and deluded. When empirical reality has no meaning and never will again.
The U.S. cannot last like this. It can’t.

    1. They have always been among us, my friend. Their voices have just been amplified by recent events.
