An Upended Car, Spinning Its Wheels Pointlessly...

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because The Spell of the Circus.

It's really astonishing how completely pointless this entire... thing is.

And this for a strip that has always excelled at pointlessness.

  1. To get some assorted grievances from the past few days out of the way —

Maybe this is just the northeasterner in me talking, but I feel like you would have search very hard to find a real-life woman who calls her biznizz a “cooter”.

Speaking of, how is Muir, who fancies himself a sultan of softcore, so bad at this that he even manages to make said biznizz look dull? It’s three lines at most, and he can’t even handle those with any finesse.
Of course, this is a guy who renders a pair of tatas looking like two water balloons sloppily stapled to a chest, as opposed to actually growing out from it.
Also, why are they always so pale and sickly-looking? To go by his coloring choices you’d assume all the D&D women walk out in the sun all day wearing nothing but unhealthily, suffocatingly thick bras.

At this point his freehand drawings have deteriorated so much that his bad photo tracings would look *better* than this. Ironically, if he’d already gone all softcore in the actual historic 2006, his old noodle people would have looked better than both.

(Interesting and sometimes revealing disagreements among the Peanut Gallery regarding the virtues, or not, of forest management. I certainly could have contentedly lived out the rest of my life without having read William Henry’s account of his friend’s sensitive and delicate description of Amish women.)

Also, in Monday’s strip, what IS that thing Zed is leaning on? I certainly don’t have a large flat black protrusion at the foot of my bed, and I hope no one else does, either.

    Lastly.
Even if there are real-life people who still say “cooter”, NOBODY calls Halloween “‘Ween”. Not a single human being calls it that.

    1. You've expended more energy on this incredibly shit plotline than I'm willing to. This whole thing... there's nothing here. Muir's just trying to ignore the world right now.
