There's something especially grim in that the only reason Muir can finally see this as vicious is that his antisemitism has reached Third Reich levels himself. In the old days, he was nodding along with shit like that, and muttering "Ahh, but we must support Israel..."

But it’s laughable that this horrible man gives a flaming fuck about what is being done to the Palestinians.
I would have anticipated his take would be more along the lines of “Let’s smile with dry superciliousness as we watch these two groups we hate kill each other.”
I mean, if you've read ahead that's where he ends it. He doesn't actually give a shit about the Palestinians. He just hates Jews enough now that he'll latch on anything that makes them look bad.
