There's something darkly amusing that all the service McConnell did for the Right still sees him hated and loathed by them.

    I still cannot understand why they hate McConnell. Like, their actual, material, tangible reasons. The literal THINGS they believe he DID to kneecap the conservative movement, impede the right’s agenda, and make him worthy of being rendered as the BFF and co-mustache twirler of Nancy Pelosi in the Evil Conspiracy of Evil.

    I’ve been a daily reader (christ…) for almost eleven years and I STILL have no idea.

      Fundamentally, any Senate leader--and most legislative leaders--are going to wind up bowing to reality and pushing some compromises, something that Muir's brand of reactionary see as betrayal. On top of which, they need someone to blame for why the vague, imagined world where they get everything they want, immediately, even the bits that contradict each other, hasn't happened yet. That first part I mentioned tends to make people like Mitch a convenient scapegoat for the second.
