I believe Muir was trying out a new format here, so that we archive divers lose most of the strip. That said, let's look at this. Apparently Damon sees Hillary as King Kong, often seen as a symbol of the African experience in America. So, Damon seems to identify Hillary with his own race, and seems to feel that it should be destroyed. Well, that explains a lot, really.
