Yeah, I mean--clearly this arrogant publicity stunt is vitally important. I mean, sure the Founding Fathers--who Muir claims to admire--never saw any reason to read the Constitution out in the House--but that's just because they all magically knew it by heart! And Ezra Klein is a doodyhead!

I have to be honest. I really hate this damn reading. It's another example of the Right's increasingly bloated self-regard, their love of symbolic "patriotic" measures to illustrate how much they love the nation even as they continue to batter and bash it under the guise of "helping it".

Also, Ezra Klein is a much better writer than Muir, who is willfully misrepresenting his writing on the subject. But then, expecting honesty from Muir is like expecting ethical business practice from Wal-Mart.
