    I had wondered the same thing. I guessed that Muir is casting Bolton in this role on the grounds that illegal immigration is supposedly a national security issue.

      Yeah, I suspected something like that myself. But it really just is part of the whole 'Muir doesn't understand how the government functions' feel. Which is probably a big part of why he can think Trump is doing a good job.
