Of course, when you examine it further, so many other horrors present themselves to you--Muir clearly sketching out that he is being oppressed by all this somehow, the insulting dismissal of a man's death--but those two words, they are what leap out at you on your first read. There's what tells you that this man is a lost cause, incapable of self-examination and growth.
Jesus, Muir, why not just use the n-word while you're at it, and save yourself the trouble?
This is a powerful indictment of right-wing media, and how it genuinely harms the mental and physical health of those caught in its insidious grasp. These people live in a horrible world, a deeply dangerous and fallen world filled with treachery, violence and evil around every corner, a world brimming with saboteurs and thieves and mindlessly destructive "enemies" desperate to take, take TAKE from you. I cannot imagine the toll this takes on people who swallow this toxic garbage all day, every day. It has clearly taken its toll on Muir. Just LISTEN to him.
