All The Excitement And Drama Of Watching Paint Dry.

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because Pippa's Progress!

You know--Muir is clearly trying to do something in the manner of classic adventure strips like Wash Tubbs/Captain Easy, or Terry and the Pirates. The problem is he's a lousy artist, and a lousy writer, so the whole thing falls flat.

Ahh, but a man's reach should exceed his grasp, or what's a heaven for?

Of course, like most of Browning, there's a certain irony in that statement, as it's said by a skilled but ultimately mediocre artist in a conversation with a wife who is (implicitly) cheating on him.
