Bush presidency, with six years of outright Republican Party supremacy?  Doesn't count.  The Republican "Revolution"?  Doesn't count.  No, it's been doom and gloom since Saint Ronnie, Patron Saint of the Free Market, Commie-Bashing and "Welfare" People Knowing Their Place left the presidency, a dark time that has inevitably lead to these present evils.
