It's the Day's Day of Days! Because they wanted the highway; they're happier there.
The saddest thing is that Muir is essentially having his pretend wife who is essentially a female him, reaffirm that Muir is a fun and happy guy. And that is where this strip stumbles, because Muir doesn't realize that Sam doesn't strike most viewers as fun--she strikes them a cruel and obnoxious bully. And that's besides being a bigoted lunatic.
