The projection here is epic beyond Muir's normal measure, because Muir is not only projecting Republican opportunism onto the Democrats, he's projecting his own ideological about-faces, which have had him swap from neo-con hawk to neo-isolationist, all with the idea of 'owning the libs' and explaining how they're the real racists.
And it has clearly been draining for him.
