'You Not True True!' Burbled The Blobels.

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because Clash City Rockers.

As Muir trots out the Yellow Peril nonsense about Mitch again, (and yes, this strip is so bad that it makes me defend Professional Awful Person Mitch McConnell) I find myself instead staring at the hideous monstrosities that Jan and Damon become in the second panel. The combination of Jan's Howler Monkey Face, and Damon's increasingly common lapse into what appears to be a gelatinous state makes it look like the pair are blobs trying to badly mimic the human form.

Which is pretty much the case, when you think of it.

  1. I wonder if Damon visually decaying into chocolate pudding is another sign of how little Muir cares about these two characters anymore.

    1. Our host's observation that all the characters have essentially been converging into being the same person is quite astute. They used to be reasonably well delineated. Now they all just might as well be a picture of Muir himself holding a bullhorn.

    2. Yeah, Sam and Zed are the closest thing to distinct we get, and that's because he identifies with so totally that they are allowed to be extra-obnoxious.

On the other subject--while some of it is Muir's ever declining talent, which was not exactly starting from a high point to begin with, I do agree that Jan and Damon's artwork is clearly declining faster in part because Muir's lack of interest means they get drawn less, and tossed in with quickie stock poses when they are in the strip.
