You know, this would always be a good example of Muir's being blind to how he ironically undermines his own statements, this huge helping of misogyny attempting to pretend that it's about protecting women's rights. (With that extra-helping of bigotry, of course--Mamdani, a man whose own Muslim wife certainly doesn't wear a hijab, much less a burka, is apparently going to make non-Muslim women wear the most conservative form of Muslim female garb, because that's just what Muslims do.)
But the proceeding plotline just further underlines how full of shit Muir is. Muir's the one who wants repression for women and views them as lesser. He only objects to Muslims doing it because they aren't his people. And he doesn't see that because he's completely incapable of self-examination.
