It's the Day's Day of Days! Because I live here in Kill City, where the death rate meets the sea.
It's interesting to note the clear line between the first bit, where Muir indulges in his typical fantasy that really, all the Left are just as racist as him, and also, immigrants are subhuman, and also, this sort of shit would work, and the second, where he furthers the plot with some real... weird stuff. And also starts grumbling that Il Puce just isn't enough of a Nazi for him.

This should be interesting...the cracks are really starting to show in the Dear Leader facade (for his base, anyway--we've obviously seen him for the sham that he is all along) and so Muir is clearly beginning to work on reasons to say that no, Donald was never really that great, I never supported him all that strongly, whatever could you mean? It's kind of sad that one of those reasons is going to be rank anti-Semitism. And no, I don't support Israel's actions, for the record, but I think there is a difference to opposing the war in Gaza, and this "the Jews are controlling us!" BS that Muir is of course trotting out.
ReplyDeleteI've seen all this before--it happened with Dubya, who I'd argue Muir arguably admired more at his height than he ever admired Trump. To be fair, he never exhorted Dubya to attempt a coup, but that's really just how Muir's developed. Back when he thought George W. Bush was great, you never even saw the qualifiers he's always tended to toss on his admiration for Trump.
DeleteOn the second--you pretty much sum up my points. Hell, I don't think Muir even minds Gaza as Gaza, he just dislikes the idea of the US doing something for another nation. (And yeah, has transformed into a raving antisemite.)
Considering some of the commentary I've seen in the Peanut Gallery re: Muslims, no, I don't think either Muir or his followers have any problem with what's going on in Gaza.
DeleteRight, just the vague sense that Murica is getting stiffed somehow. (Though note this is really splitting his audience. Muir, the man who is having problems keeping the lights on, is making his audience smaller.)
DeleteHe has been doing that over the years, no matter how much he then tries to backtrack on his racist and anti-Semitic pronouncements. Definitely not smart for his fundraising, although I'm sure he will comfort himself with delusions about how he is battling for truth and America, etc.
