    Skye couldn't possibly be more of a strawman, could she?

    We were just having a conversation about this in the comments over at S,N! The whole liberals-as-helpless-statists thing is based on absolute ignorance. Either Muir is a shut-in (unlikely, but then again, he is a webcomic artist...) or else he walks around all day presupposing awful things about everyone he meets. I often wonder what it would it like to live like that - it doesn't seem pleasant.

    No, it doesn't, but then, Muir really doesn't strike me as a very pleasant person.

    As for Skye--well, she's just fulfilling her narrative function in this sad excuse for a comic, which has been to be the irredeemable liberal--in contrast to Jan's Fox News Liberal, who means well, but apparantely fell into the evil grasp of the left as a child. (Jan of course used to be the strip's shrill stupid liberal. And she also used to be white, but that's another story.) It's not pretty, but then, nothing in DbD is.
