By now, I thinks it's safe to say that Muir has pretty much given up having a point in this... storyline.

    Actually, he's doing something here that to my knowledge he hasn't done in a long, long time ---- acknowledging an inconsistency in his position.

    The pre-2009 Muir did that often enough to be given the benefit of the doubt as a good-faith actor. Today, this tiny instance stands out like a sore thumb.

      It was a rhetorical trick when he did it then, and it's an even more obvious one now.
