ReplyDeleteIt's as you say. To protect his emotional and psychological constructs, if things go south for Trump he will have to subconsciously keep shifting the goalposts. He won't even understand that he's doing it.
How far along into this craziness does one have to be before this degree of self-deception becomes possible---even routine? The Muir of 2003 surely had not yet crossed that threshold.
