I think even Muir is finding the County Council plotline so lazy that he finds it hard to keep it running long. And so we get... this.

    Of course the peanut gallery is inevitably out for blood, gleefully hoping that Muir will depict bombs and lasers being deployed against the "invaders." (Whom Muir apparently really believes have suddenly materialized by the thousands, because of Xiden's dark magic.)
    They are so sick.
