    Interestingly, Muir changed the dialogue slightly from his initial posting, at the suggestion of someone in the peanut gallery. When I first saw it it originally read "And history's shown only WHITE men can run the darn thing."

    And "hi-test" was originally "highest."

    Not really sure what the significance of that second change is, but it's interesting that he changed that first bit.

      That is the "pretend you're not racist" equivalent of trying to use Groucho glasses as a disguise.

      "Hi-test" refers to automobile engine standards, where high performance vehicles need high purity fuel or they start clogging up. Gosh, what a brilliant analogy.
