What's fascinating about this strip is the downright fractal self-own, from the ending where Muir more or less admits that he knows Trump is an idiot and a blowhard, to the overblown bullshit denunciation of Biden that starts it off, where Muir throws everything against the wall in hopes something lands and sticks. And then there are the little bits on the margins, like Pence in what was the role of Tillerson, and then Bolton before they were unpersoned. In one strip, Muir shows how much he is rattled.
And the answer is 'very, very rattled'.
So what is the "defecates in public" thing mutated from?
ReplyDeleteThe drug that Biden is supposedly doping himself with in the bullshit 'Biden has dementia, but doesn't show it, because he's on dope' theory has incontinence as a side-effect. Thus, Biden is clearly pooping himself in public, because Muir wants that to be true.

I see now that this is how Muir has ALWAYS formed his panel one monologues, and I cringe every time I think back on how I used to give him some benefit of the doubt.
ReplyDeleteYep. They've gotten crazier as the years go by, and the bullshit he takes gets worse, but by and large he's always favored the 'try and overwhelm you right out of the gate' approach.
