What makes this fascinating is that we know that Muir realizes, on some level, that it's Trump who's losing, that it's Trump who's blowing his chances, that it's Trump who's an incapable fool. But he can't out and out admit that, so we get this play attempt at blithe, bluff confidence that is simultaneously actively deluded and a desperate put-on. He's not alone on this--his fellows on the Crazyass Right are making the same sort of comments about how Biden is toast, and how the Democrats are going to try and steal it, but obviously, they won't succeed, etc.
