    Based on Mia's behavior, I'm wondering if we're about to get some weird plot twist where it turns out she is Putin's long-lost cousin or something. There is something strange going on here.

      While I don't think even Muir would write something that insane, he does have a long history of presenting loony right wing lies and conspiracy theories as in-universe fact, only to be forced into abandoning the thread when nothing ever pans out. Because of course it doesn't.

      If he were to write that Mia is Putin's daughter, that would put him even more at the mercy of real-world events than a topical cartoonist normally is, since he'd have to always be careful that Mia-centered happenings wouldn't contradict reality.

      Oh, lord. What am I saying. Muir being concerned with reality? I need more sleep.
