The "Kamala doesn't have real crowds, does not, does not!" story has been circulating among the Online Right for weeks now, based on their not understanding how large crowds work, and thus turning normal things into "proof" of the conspiracy/failure. To be fair, this goes to the very top. Trump's rallies have often turned into shitshows because of the general assumption that things will work themselves out.
Yeah, I found the whole "gasp! people had to be bussed in!" thing pretty amusing.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, we're clearly hearing from someone who doesn't understand how local organizing, political events, getting out the vote etc. actually work. In Muir's world, there's some vague vision of city council people yelling orders, banning political parties they don't like, and then spending the rest of their day sleeping on the job. Setting up a political rally is not exactly Sam's (or Muir's) strong suit.
