Scenes From A Crackpot Marriage.

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger.

We've gotten close to a week of these one and two panel strips consisting only of Sam and Zed tossing out this idiotic paranoid gibberish and reaffirming their own superiority to the rest of the world. The strip's reminding us that it is in the end a closed circle, Muir talking to himself endlessly and declaring that he is so much smarter and stronger than those who disagree with him, and that every crazy theory he's bought is so obviously right. Sometimes he tries to hide this with a lot of badly done activity trying to simulate action and a plot, and sometimes he just gives up and you get this, two sock puppets yammering at each other in feigned conversation trying to pretend they're people as Muir tries to pretend this horrific world he's imagined out of his own bigotry and egotism (leavened with countless online lunacy) is real.

  1. "Sock puppets" is the perfect description of DBD characters.

    1. Look at what I call this blog. As I've noted for years, this strip always been about moving the paper dolls around. It's just that the cast has gone from having a few exceedingly rough character traits to being Muir in various hats most of the time. The cast may have back stories, and occasionally roles, but, well, I don't call it the hivemind without cause.

    2. Jan used to have moments where she almost (almost!) sounded like a real person, and even occasionally used to stymie Damon/catch him in some moment of hypocrisy about something.

      That's long, long gone.
