Raise Those Tinfoil Hats High!

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because 4 Week Continuous Super Sentai Strongest Battle!!

Times like this emphasize that fine combination of crazy, stupid and evil that fuels Muir these days. There's the massive arrogance, the colossal ignorance, and the spite, misogyny and bigotry under it all.

  1. It never ceases to amaze me that so many of the characters in this comic are female, and yet Muir clearly has nothing but contempt for women--weak, effeminate, apparently only worthy of submission and objectification. We've discussed this only a thousand times, but it's even more amazing that there are female fans and peanut gallery members.

    1. It's just astonishing how bone-deep the misogyny is with Muir these days. Hell, the only reason this didn't rank a label is how much of an aside it was. Muir doesn't even feel the need to dwell on his 'feminine=inferior' framing anymore. It's just taken as a given.

  2. Yes to all. I don't understand this. How can someone come to hate women THIS much? Like...how? What has to happen in their lives for them to end up here?
Muir did not seem to hate women anywhere near this palpably twenty years ago. What happened since then? Has he been on a nonstop string of failed relationships? SOMETHING has to have brought him to this place.

    1. Perhaps no relationships at all? Maybe this is just another symptom of him becoming an isolated old guy, spending most of his time consuming right-wing online conspiracies, as opposed to having a conversation with real humans. The Democrats and liberals in his strip have either disappeared or turned into more and more of a caricature over the years as well, and he has expressed increasingly violent hatred towards them. So we could be looking at an abstract concept of "women" that is becoming more and more twisted and exaggerated as time goes on. This is all speculation on my part--I don't know anything about Muir's private life. If DBD is any indication, though, going out for a walk and talking to some neighbors would do him a world of good.

    2. ^ I think this is it, though like you, I'm only working on speculation and the occasional remark from Muir. This isn't brought on by interactions with actual women--it's brought on by a lack of interaction as Muir marinates his brain in misogynistic online nonsense.
