You Know She Thinks She's The Fun Aunt.

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because The Story of a Disappearance and an Appearance.

I'm going to try and enjoy Muir writing Eva here as a character, as pretty soon she's just going to be yet another hivemind member.

Though as usual, Sam is reminding us all how awful she is.

  1. I think Sam's trajectory, arguably even more so than Zed's showcases Muir' deterioration over the past 22 years. Zed was always more or less a self-insert so regardless of the era he's kind of in his own category, but Sam used to be written with a degree of nuance.

    That's sure over.

    1. I won't lie, I think you're projecting a lot on a handful of times when he had her acting as the foil to Zed for strip purposes. By and large, she's always been pretty unpleasant.

That's not saying that there's nothing to be gained by following her trajectory--she was always supposed to be Muir's ideal girlfriend, and watching the fantasy move from 'at least theoretically realistic' to the absurd sexpot the strip features now is revealing. Likewise, she and Zed have both shifted from fairly urbane techheads to the crude Rural Redneck Elite that the strip now paints as the nation's natural ruling class.
