It's the Day's Day of Days! Because Twelve Medieval Ghost Stories.
The fascinating thing is that even when Muir shows a glimmer of awareness of how crazy he sounds, he still assumes that some of the insanity has to be right. Things can't just happen, and Blue States can never be simply the victims of misfortune. No everything has to be a plan, and the evil degenerates must deserve it.
Seriously asking --- when do you think was the last time that Muir actually shocked you? Or at least surprised you. I have an endless capacity for shock that somehow never completely goes away, and I'm always left sputtering at things you got over a long time ago. But when was the last time you actually felt gobsmacked or taken aback? (There must have been a time where you felt those things before it all became too predictable to be surprised at....)
ReplyDeleteBeen meaning to get to this one. It's a tough question. I can't quite recall, but it was pretty early. I think the first real jawdropper was when he turned Skye's boyfriend into an abuser, just so he could try to compare his perceived version of the Democrats' stance on terrorism to a woman in an abusive relationship. There were a few others in those days, but frankly, that one was such a low that it made it pretty clear that Muir was going hit the Ninth Circle and then keep going if left to his natural instincts.
