    Once again, something is melting in an unsightly manner. This time it's Damon's hair.

    There's also a certain sadness to the thought that with any other recurring cast of characters, I would be excited and entertained by a reunion of old friends. Any cast of characters that wasn't this unlikable.

      Yep. On top of which, Damon has always been one of the worst cast members, topped only Sam and Skye for general awfulness.

    I’ve somehow been misreading the situation for years. For some reason I thought Damon, Jan, and their family already lived on the DD compound.

      No, they pop by every now and then, and Javier supplies magitek, but they don't live there. As I've noted in the past, the strip has largely moved past Damon and Jan, with Damon in particular being almost like Barney Google in how much the strip has largely abandoned him.
