And this underlines the problem shared by all Muir's baddies, but which his immigrant hordes have extra-bad--the inability to be a true threat. They may bluster, but Muir will always write them as cowardly incompetents who are no match for his cast. And yet Muir will continuously insist that they are a major threat that justify all his cast's actions.
