It is impossible not to notice what a constant theme it is in the lurid right-wing imagination. Muir is anything but alone in invoking it time after time after time after time after time. One could have a field day playing armchair psychiatrist over that alone.
That Muir has a pattern of painting male politicians he despises in feminized terms surely comes from the same mental place, whatever you want to call it. (I’ll never forget Comey gyrating on the street corner in a pink thong.)
And of course, on a strongly related note,they continue to be incapable of discussing female politicians they hate without sexualizing them in body horror terms. This occasion had the novelty of throwing in the male politician as well because why not. Of the 19 comments that were there when I looked yesterday, six were already overtly sexual. (They seem to believe that “brain bleach” gets more hilarious every time it’s said.)
