Most of the Left see equality and rights as something where helping others helps ourselves. The Right sees it as privileges existing in a zero-sum game, and thus view the Left as fools who are raising up their inevitable supplanters.
That this belief makes them easy marks for authoritarians and wanna-be dictators doesn't quite register.

The zero-sum concept is one of the core factors driving everything in that worldview.
ReplyDeleteWhich I suppose increasingly makes it okay to keep spitting on the graves of 50 massacred innocents, i.e., the mocking phrase "our slain brothers."
