The funny thing is how we just watched Muir spend four years depicting the Trump administration as a well-oiled machine even as pieces fell off and Muir found himself unpersoning guys he'd been depicting as loyal servants days earlier.
Reading what the peanut gallery has to say frequently leaves me gasping in astonishment. The projection is so extreme that it's almost literally supernatural.

Fascists always insist they're attacking because they've been forced to attack. This takes a particularly tortured form, because these fascists have been raised to see fascism as bad, and so can't admit to themselves they despise democracy.

Some of them are always going on about how only property owners should be able to vote (because, as one of them memorably put it, only they "have skin in the game"), and Muir himself has asserted several times that only white men can be entrusted with the franchise.
