This is all a pretty good display of Muir's arrogance, ignorance, and warped sensibilities. From his shallow founding father worship that he pretends is patriotism to having Captain Mitty be bitterly offended... at something you'd only get offended at if you were planning to overthrow the government. But then, Muir thinks that makes you likable and sympathetic.
That's exactly it. The only reason that statement would get under your skin is if you were already itching to overthrow the government. Normal people heard that statement and just went "Uh, yeah. Exactly." People like Muir....clenched their fists in fury like Zed here.
ReplyDeleteAnd they think they're right to think that because... they lost the last election. Which could only be cheating, because they know they're the real majority. Despite what all the evidence says.
