A day by day look at Chris Muir's Day By Day, punctuated by efforts to make the hurting stop.

As has increasingly become the norm, Google is giving me zero help tracing the origins of today’s slate of panel-one pronouncements.
ReplyDeleteIt used to be that looking up these claims would often lead me to some wingnut source or other, from which I could sometimes reverse-engineer the claim to sort out whatever real-life thing had actually happened.
But it’s increasingly been the case that when I look, I can’t find a damned thing.
As I’ve said, this could be because Google has over the years become almost fully blind to old-style blogs (like this one). Why, I don’t know. If that’s where Muir and his Peanut Gallery are still getting most of their information, that might be why I often can’t find where this shit is coming from.
(As of me writing this, Bing is much better at finding pages from this blog the way Google once did.)
I'm pretty certain Muir is essentially reading very odd blogs and very odd Tweets and those are where he gets his news these days. As for the Google search, I think they've quietly walled off a lot of the old blogosphere in the classic Silicon Valley 'If we just harm everybody equally, nobody can claim we're following an agenda!"
