At times like this, the way Jan and Damon have become almost extraneous to this strip shines through. They no longer really discuss politics, because each of them have the same opinions now, they don't really have storylines, because nothing can really threaten them, and fundamentally, the strip isn't interested in them the way it is Zed and Sam. But they are long-standing cast, so they keep popping up, to be assholes.
