It seems like Muir is starting to realize that the inevitable triumph isn't happening, and is thus moving to as close a counterfeit of acceptance as he can achieve.
Of course, I half expect him to start ranting about a new conspiracy theory that will make Trump president tomorrow, but then, I've been at this for awhile, and expecting Muir to do about-faces is... well, par for the course.
