It's the Day's Day of Days! Because all the stars were shining bright.
On some level Muir realizes that declaring that over half the population of the US are communists is... well, a bad take and so we get attempts to wiggle out of declaring war on the rest of the nations. Most of them are fine, but SOME are evil. Because Muir also knows on some level that coming out with what he really believes--that a small group of white men should run the country according to their whims--well, it might not be popular.
