And while I haven't tested this hypothesis, I'm pretty sure if you actually Google famous feminist quotes, the vast majority of them will not be about killing men. Heck, some of the quotes about strong, self-sufficient women would probably inspire Mari, if she was a character able to make these choices for herself, and not just a sock puppet as you say...
