Every now and then, Muir shows a smidgen of awareness about his own essential awfulness. It is of course buried beneath tons of the racism and projection that Muir has convinced himself is all true and righteous, but it is still there.

Obama was lazy. Obama. Not Trump, the man whose cognitive limitations grow more severe by the year and who has been widely reported to barely do any discernible work at all.
Apart from the incomprehensible blindness and deafness to Trump's mental incompetence, this is textbook "What do you mean 'racist'? I didn't attack his race! I just said he was lazy! How do you get racism out of that?"

Always the certainty that there is a shadowy "they" behind everything. An evil cabal of evil masters of evilness doing evil things.
This is the kind of stuff that I KIND of, KIND of, KIND of, MAYBE almost SORT OF started to SLIGHTLY believe when I was 23, Bush and Cheney were trashing Iraq, and 9/11 Trutherism seemed to make sense. I will always have the embarrassment of having been swayed by Alex Jones (and others) regarding 9/11 for about three years, but mercifully I never got sucked any further into that vortex, and pulled myself out on my own as time went by and I wised up about certain things.
And I said three years. Not ten. Not twenty. Not forty. Three.
These guys are all senior citizens and they still think the world works that way.
Also, gotta love that CEO of the World moniker...perfect for these liberty-loving patriots!
